In the characteristic village of Baceno stands the monumental church of San Gaudenzio. This place of worship has been proclaimed a national historical monument.
The church stands on a rock and is easily accessible from the main road leading to the Toce waterfall. The severe line of the external façade hides a real treasure chest of works of art kept inside. Countless richly decorated sixteenth-century frescoes cover almost the entire interior of the church, sculptures of a certain artistic and historical value are kept in the apse. The mighty bell tower is second only to that of Montecrestese.
