NeighbourhoodOssola is formed from seven valleys departing from Domodossola. There are so many things to visit, and among them: Cascata del Toce
It's the highest jump of water's waterfall of Europe (143 meters) and it is placed at the top of Valle Formazza, 45 km. approximately from Domodossola.
An occasion for a nice trip to a place where the Walser minority of German origin is still present. Interesting the mountain huts suspended on the land according to an ancient technique. The Val formazza is place of production of the “Bettelmatt”, a cheese produced from little mountaineers and nearly unavailable outside that zone.
Cascata del Toce opening hours:Everyday from 11th June to 26th September 2011: Monday to Saturday from 11.30 to 13.30 Sundays from 10.00 to 16.00 Everydays from 10 to 20 August from 10.00 to 16.00

Orridi di Uriezzo
Orridi are small canyons.
The peculiarity of the Orridi di Uriezzo consists in the fact that the torrent that has modelled them does not cover anymore these paths, so it is possible to walk inside them. http://www.andifor.it/Nat_Orridi.asp Gold mine of Pestarena
Among the Ossola gold mines, Pestarena and Macugnaga are the most importants in Italy. The first to get gold from Anzasca Valley was the Roman Empire.
In the 50th more than 300 people worked in the mines but soon the foreigner production made these mines obsolete. They were closed in 1961. Now the mine is a museum.
Veglia-Devero National Park
The Park consists in two river basins placed one (Alpe Veglia) on the Alps Lepontine on the top of Val Cairasca, the other (Alpe Devero) in Val d' Ossola always in the northern Piemonte.

Santa Maria Maggiore (Val Vigezzo)
The first chimney-sweepers were from Vigezzo Valley. In the 1500 they left this valley to the greatest European nations. Still today their descendants operate in big business among Europe. Every year the gathering of the chimney-sweepers recalls people from all the Countries. http://comune.santamariamaggiore.vb.it/storia/spazzacamini.html Monte Calvario
Since 1657 Sacred Mount Calvary of Domodossola has been a place of meditation and prayer. After alternate vicissitudes, from February 1828, with Antonio Rosmini became the center of the Institute of the Charity (Rosminiani Fathers) he founded. The Unesco has declared in 2003 Sacred Mount Calvary “world-wide patrimony of the humanity”: an acknowledgment of absolute prestige.
